Keyboard shortcuts

Use these keys to edit your plan and choose what to build next.

On Mac, use Cmd in place of Ctrl.

Planning

Keys	Action
`Ctrl` + `Z`	Undo. Take back the last planning edit.
`Ctrl` + `Shift` + `Z`	Redo. Restore the last edit you undid.
`Esc`	Step back. Close the current view, cancel a route adjustment, or stop building. Each press closes one level.

Start a new line, or select a station to build from. Read the line card before you place the next point.

Keys	Action
`1`–`3`	Choose the construction type. The available choices depend on the transport mode. The line card shows each choice and its cost.
`4`	Use existing track. Use another visible metro or railway line’s track for the next section. A compatible track must be available.
`W`	Place a waypoint. Shape a metro or railway line without adding a station. Place the first station before using this key.
`S`	Place a station. Return from the waypoint tool to placing stations.
Hold `Alt`	Place without snapping. Keep a new point from automatically joining a nearby point. Release the key to restore snapping.
`Shift` + `1`–`9`	Choose lines at a shared stop. Include or exclude a line from that stop. Hover its badge in the build card to see its shortcut.

The waypoint keys apply when you draw new metro or railway track.

When you type in a name or another field, these keys edit that field. They do not change the plan.
